On the Day before the cruise we spend the night in North Vancouver, B.C. We walk on some suspension bridges, go to Stanley Park and check out a brewery. On this quick whirl-wind tour of Vancouver B.C. you'll know what to check out when you're in town.
Boarding the Konningsdam
This is our first experience with a cruise ship. We start the day in Vancouver, B.C. We take you along from the first step at the port to the last drink of the day on the HAL Konningsdam. We take you along as we wind our way through the boarding process right up to the gangplank.
​Our first visit to Juneau, Alaska!
In Juneau, Alaska we take a bus ride to Mendenhall Glacier, a tram ride to Mt. Roberts; an overlook of the cruise port from high above. We end our time in Juneau at the Red Dog Saloon.
Train Excursion from Skagway!
When in Skagway, do not miss the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad excursion. We will ride the rail up the mountain side to see sights that few people have seen. Truly a highlight of the trip.
Experience Glacier Bay!
Holland American CruiseLine is one of the few CruiseLine's allowed into Glacier Bay. You will see some of the most iconic glaciers in the world, all from the comfort of your cruise ship. We were lucky enough to have balcony room that had a front row view.
A Day in Ketchikan, Alaska!

A Day in Miami Before the Cruise​
We spend two nights and one full day in beautiful downtown Miami at the Downtown Hilton. Using free public transportation, we take you to Bayside and Miami Beach. We stop at the South Beach Brewery and Havana 1957 for an evening of entertainment.
Boarding the Norwegian Sky
We take you through the entire boarding process from the hotel in Miami to right aboard the ship long into the evening. After watching the video, you will know what to expect when departing from the largest cruise ship terminal in the world.
Puerto Plata, The Dominican Republic
This is our first port stop on our 9-day cruise aboard the Norwegian Sky. We walk into the festive town of Puerto Plata to check out the history and local culture. Taino Bay is our final stop before we get back on the boat. Taino Bay has swimming pools, a lazy river, shops, restaurants and bars. A great place to relax when visiting the Dominican Republic.
St. Thomas and Megans Bay
For this port-of-call we are in St. Thomas. We take an excursion through Norwegian Cruise Lines over to Megans Bay, Drake's Seat and a Sky-Tram up to Paradise Point over looking Charlotte Amalie.
Stingray City St John!
Next stop is St. John and Stingray City. We van to the other side of the island and get on a boat to dock in the Caribbean. We had snorkel gear but you don't need it. The stingrays come right up to you just like dogs in a dog park. The guys in charge make sure you have a good time and give you food to feed the stingrays and bring them right up to you to hold for a photo. This is a "don't miss" excursion while traveling with Norwegian Cruise Lines.
Airplane Beach on Sint Maarten!
We unwittingly find a private tour guide while getting into a taxi to Maho Beach. Valando our taxi driver for the day, made us a deal we couldn't refuse. For three hours, Valando took us to all the places we wanted to see, to include Maho Beach, top of the list. We hung out on the beach watching the planes take off and land at the end of the runway at the Princess Julianna International Airport. This turned out to be the highlight of the visit.
Old San Juan in Puerto Rico!
We made a great decision to book with Norwegian to visit the beautiful city of San Juan on the gorgeous island of Puerto Rico. This great U.S. territory has more history and culture so tightly packed here than we could unpack in one short visit. From historical national parks, beautiful churches, town squares and local cuisine, this town will leave you breathless. We plan to come back for at least a week.
Great Stirrup Cay!
This is our last stop on our 9-day cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line aboard the NCL Sky. We spend the day at Great Stirrup Cay; Norwegian's private island resort. We go on a wave runner excursion and swim in the ocean. A great end to a great cruise.
